Victory in Christ

“Victory in Christ” gives believers confidence to face every challenge with faith and hope. In Romans 8:31-39, Dr. Dub Oliver reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Paul asks a powerful question: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This question points us toward a deeper understanding of what it means to live in Christ. Following Jesus does not remove every trial, hardship, or uncertainty. Instead, Christ gives us the strength to walk through those circumstances with confidence.

Dr. Dub explores what it means to be in Christ and explains the powerful truth behind Paul’s declaration that we are “more than conquerors through him who loved us.” The phrase “more than conquerors” comes from the Greek word hypernikaō, which points to an overwhelming victory through Christ. Our victory does not come from our own strength or ability. Christ gives us the victory because of His love and His work on our behalf.

Romans 8 also reminds us that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. That truth changes how we understand our past, our present, and our future. Because of the past, we can remember what Christ has already accomplished for us. In the present, we can rely on His help when life brings difficulty, pressure, or uncertainty. For the future, we can hold firmly to God’s promises and trust that nothing can separate us from His love.

Through this message, Dr. Dub encourages us to live with confidence in the victory Christ provides. Our circumstances may change, but God’s love remains constant. Our challenges may feel overwhelming, but Christ remains with us. And our future rests securely in the promises of God.
